I paint to free myself. To release from my body what weighs on me, what hurts, or what makes life more difficult, and to try to overcome it. I need to paint in order to feel light. Life can sometimes become very heavy, and painting helps me live better.<\/p>

I feel painting as a space where I can step out of my head and connect with the body, with the unconscious. In the head everything is too calculated, everything has to be perfect. Painting frees me from that burden. It allows me to play, with rules and without them. It connects me to the present moment, and there everything happens like a dance where everything flows effortlessly.<\/p>

For this reason, the process becomes something central in my work. For me it is like trying to meditate. In my work there is planning, an idea sketched on a small piece of paper. But most of the time it is only that. It is on the canvas where everything happens. I am interested in it being that way.<\/p>

For me, the viewer is an essential character in this game. I look for a slow, unhurried gaze. In a world where everything happens so fast, I look for a pause. A long one. For me it is important that you look at the child who lives inside you. That you remember them. We were all children, but few remember. And this makes us ill, it takes away our sense of wonder. There is no worse illness than that.<\/p>
