DANIEL BUM CV
Daniel Bum develops his pictorial work within the field of new figuration, with a naïve aesthetic and a recognizable visual universe that emerges from an invented sense of everyday life.
His works do not depict real scenes; instead, they reformulate lived experiences, emotions, and thoughts through a direct visual narrative in which memory blends with the symbolic and the fictional.
His canvases often feature frontal figures, frequently solitary, with an almost vacant gaze. These characters, marked by subtle gestures and a vulnerable appearance, convey an ambiguous sensation: they seem approachable, almost gentle, yet something in their presence resists an easy reading.
It is within this tension between the naïve and the unsettling that the strength of his painting resides.
